Santorini is unique in pretty much every single detail. And the same goes for its coastline, which resembles lunar shaped landscapes more than the typical beaches you will find elsewhere. Bathed by the infinite blue of the Aegean, Santorini offers exquisite places to dive in crystalline waters and explore the rich sea bed. And there are beaches covering all tastes and preferences. Most of them have been influenced by the continuous volcanic eruptions on the island, which have in turn formed the largest caldera in the world and amazing rock carvings. 
First of all, the Red Beach is probably the most popular on the island and is located near Akrotiri. There are red rock formations covering the entire bay, whereas you will find red pebbles all across the coastline. The White Beach is found in proximity to the Red Beach and provides an exceptional setting made of oversized white cliffs.

Then, there is Kamari Beach. A fully organized beach of black sand, with stunning view to the gigantic rock called Mesa Vouno. Perissa is an equally family friendly and fully organized beach, consisting of soft black sand and inviting to all. For a truly different and more exclusive experience, Cape Columbo Beach offers an oasis of privacy and a great place to swim and sunbathe. The beach is located near Oia, features fine sand and the cliffs seem to have been  carved by artists.
